Is like a kids game but with Realistic Adult problems
Stardew Valley is a game that for its graphics its so cool, that shows that the graphics do not always matter I play and I dont understand how fast the time goes. ConcernedApe’s Farming simulator and RPG hybrid Stardew Valley was released this month on Apple’s mobile devices by London based developers at The Secret Police. Reviewing such a successful game two years after its original release for PC and one after its ports for Playstation 4 and Xbox One were published is not an easy feat.
I would recommend this to kids still. However the one thing that is not for kids is Shane’s suicidal thoughts but he turns around and teaches a good message of why supportive good listening helps people cope and take the high road.Even though there are villagers who smoke and drink, they eventually lean towards quitting for the betterment of themselves and their family. Sebastian and Shane do this later in the game.I think its fine as long as there is parental guidance. Most of the game has good lessons on how to be a authentic, caring member of the community.

I would add that there is some drinking and sexual content in cutscenes. There are a couple cutscenes where your character drinks alcohol and is briefly tipsy (makes them move slower. There's also a cutscene where you find a male character's 'secret stash' and are rewarded with friendship points for choosing to keep his secret. Otherwise I agree with this review. Really fun and addicting game with a great relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing Game, I Could Never Tire of It!
Stardew valley is an amazing remaster of the ideas behind Harvest Moon, and perhaps even better. Gameplay is fun and easy, it can teach good money spending habits, and the characters are all lovely.Yes, there are a few characters who could possibly be seen as an issue: Pam, who is an alcoholic, Shane, who is also an alcoholic, and Sebastian, who smokes. However, Shane's relationship route is about you helping him to get over his alcoholism, and teaches a good lesson about how depression can affect people, and Sebastian's smoking isn't a major thing. You can go into the mines and fight monsters, but that's only violent in the same way that pokemon or any other kids game with fighting is violent. Additionally, yes, the romance route of each character has kissing, but that's fine for kids to see. It's not making out, it's just a simple pack between two pixel characters. Kids likely already know what kissing is. They don't need to be shielded from it.And yes, you can marry characters of the same gender, not because they didn't take the time to remove that from the game, but because the creators actually like gay people. If you think that's a problem for kids, that's more on you, considering they're going to see gay people at some point in their lives.

We keep waiting for something to blow up but nope, my kid is just tending crops.
A miracle happened, my teen (13) did not get swept into the black hole that is Fortnite. Fortnite is totally his preferred genre of video game and what all his peers are into, but nope, every time I check, my teen is tending to his Stardew Valley garden, building his house and occasionally buying something extravagant, like a tv. Haha!As his parents, we joke that, 'Maybe that carrot he's carrying is a weapon, ' or 'Maybe he put some dynamite beneath his neighbor's farm,' but instead, I think my teen-like teen might be playing a video game that I can't find any issues with -- yet. His brother likes to troll him by wearing funny outfits and loading up his brother's house with too many TVs so he can't get in the bed and sleep to re-energize. After playing games like Overwatch, Battlefront, Battlefield and Fortnite, my teen now plays ... Stardew Valley! All kidding aside, there must be something really engaging about this game for my kid to be drawn to this over all the other popular games.

Amazing game! Infinite options
I don't understand why there's little 'ease of gameplay...' Common sense media says mastering the game is difficult. This is WRONG! Mastering the game takes a while. But anyone can achieve it if the put the time into working their way up. The gameplay just lasts a really long time.

Not for kids
This game allows for making and drinking alcohol. Showing characters drinking and roost, sexual references and allows marriage to any gender. I don’t think it is appropriate for little kids.

Actually an incredibly well crafted game but this website's desription is lacking
Stardew Valley is a farming/socializing simulator in the vein of Harvest Moon. Parents should be warned that you are able to craft various alcoholic beverages like beer and wine and, in fact, there is a character who is essentially the town drunk although it isn't obvious in any way. There is a simplified dungeon-crawling aspect were you go into a dark and spooky mine and fight against monsters with weapons like swords and slingshots, similar to the top-down Zelda titles for the SNES and GBA. Lastly, the game allows but does not specifically address homosexual relationships between the player and NPC characters. You are able to freely court and marry about 60% of the villagers regardless of the player's gender. This is simply a case of the developer leaving content in the game instead of spending more time to disable it. If you choose to have a heterosexual relationship, you will probably never see this.Overall, Stardew Valley is a great game that has very minor things here and there that certain parents will want to watch out for. It's also fairly challenging at times so that I would not recommend giving this to very small children until they are ready. It's a great game for kids but, if you start playing it, you'll likely never stop.
